Ian MacMillan is the Dhirubhai Ambani Emeritus Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Wharton School. His research interests include entrepreneurship, new venture management, organizational competence, and strategic management.
He joined Wharton in 1986 and has been appointed Fred R. Sullivan Professor, Director of the Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center, Director of the Goergen Entrepreneurial Management Program, and more.
MacMillan has served as Chief Chemical Engineer of Consolidated Oil Products, and as a scientist on the Atomic Energy Board of Government Metallurgical Labs in the Republic of South Africa.
He received his DBA at University of South Africa in 1975, his MBA cum laude at University of South Africa in 1972, and his BS at University of Witwatersrand in 1963.
