One year ago today, Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico causing mass devastation. Much of the island was left without power for months, almost 3000 people died from the storm and its aftereffects, and thousands of Puerto Ricans moved to the US mainland and haven’t gone back. Knowledge at Wharton host Dan Loney discusses the state of the island now with Carla Minet, Executive Director of the Center for Investigative Journalism in Puerto Rico, and Charles Venator-Santiago, Associate Professor with a joint appointment in the University of Connecticut’s Department of Political Science and the Institute for Latino, Caribbean and Latin American Studies.
